The Seat that could overshadow the Peugeot 406 Coupe
The Concepto T Coupé and Concepto T Cabrio are two interesting and very promising prototypes presented by Seat in 1992 and 1993. They were designed by David Ancona of the Spanish firm Integral Design, and have some genetic similarity to the earlier Proto T and Proto TL prototypes created by Giugiaro, which were later reincarnated into the first generation of the Seat Toledo piese auto online.

The main idea behind the Concepto T was to add two new sporty versions to the Toledo range: a coupé and a convertible. The project was launched at the end of 1989 as a natural extension of the previous development, codenamed Project S3. In the meantime, the new Toledo model was practically complete, although its market premiere was not until two years later. At that time, a sporty version with G60 or VR6 engines and all-wheel drive was planned, but after the tests carried out, the idea was rejected. However, the improvements made were later used in the development of the Concepto T, with the first prototype equipped with a V6 engine.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, such cars were in high demand, and Seat believed that such a fresh addition to the company's lineup could have a very beneficial effect on the brand's image. At that time, only two similar cars were offered within the VW Group - the Volkswagen Corrado and the Audi 80 Coupé S2.
The first prospective model, the Seat Concepto T Coupé 2+2, based on the Toledo, was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1992. For those years, the car looked very good and would certainly make an impression even today. It was distinguished by smoother lines, almost without right angles, and its yellow body was combined with a glazed roof, tinted windows, darkened headlights, 5-spoke flat Azev wheels, an exhaust system with one exhaust on each side and the Concept T inscription on the back. A characteristic feature in terms of technology was the replacement of rear-view mirrors with cameras. The prototype was equipped with a V6 engine that generated 200 hp.
At the 1993 Barcelona Motor Show, Seat also presented the Concept T Cabrio. Initially, its official premiere was planned to be in Geneva, but for unknown reasons, a false report of a fake accident during its transportation was spread. The Concept T Cabrio is slightly more sophisticated, but in appearance it is almost identical to the coupé, except for the soft-top roof. Some differences can also be found in the transparent (instead of darkened) headlights, which are like those of the production cars, and the five-spoke wheels are more cylindrical. This new variant also includes standard rear-view mirrors. The body is painted in a rich red, which contrasts with the light interior, while the dashboard is a combination of blue and gray. The engine is the same as the Concept T Coupé.
However, the planned series production of the Concepto T for the end of 1994 did not take place and most of the prototypes built under this program were ultimately scrapped. And this is really a pity, because a few years later the very similar-looking Peugeot 406 Coupé managed to achieve very good market success.
