The new BMW M2: with 460 "horses" from the in-line six of the M4 and a 14.9-inch screen
The new BMW M2 offers the typical M dynamics in a particularly concentrated form. With its in-line six-cylinder engine with an output of 338 kW/460 hp, the optional six-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive, the second generation of the compact High Performance car provides pure driving pleasure. The variant of the in-line six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, developed for the compact High-Performance, features a high-revving concept. The three-liter unit differs in a few small details from the engine of the BMW M3/BMW M4 model family and excites with spontaneous reactions, high agility and linear power development up to the maximum load modes. With its maximum output of 338 kW/460 hp. the drivetrain of the new BMW M2 outperforms the predecessor's base engine by 66 kW/90 hp. The maximum torque of 550 Nm is available between 2,650 and 5,870 rpm. Agility, dynamics and precision are also enhanced by the high torsional resistance of the body structure and the linkage of the suspension with model-specific reinforcements. The standard equipment of the new BMW M2 includes Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers and M Servotronic steering with variable gear ratio.
The new BMW M2 has a driver-oriented cockpit, which in addition to M-specific display indications, controls and setup settings also includes an advanced BMW Curved Display. Driving information, including Shift Lights with new graphics, is displayed on the 12.3-inch info display. Among other things, the 14.9-inch Control Display can display M-specific Widgets for vehicle setup and tire condition.
