Sales of electrified vehicles have been particularly impressive, with sales of 175,194 fully electric vehicles expected in 2024, up 54 percent from 2023. Plug-in hybrids are also seeing strong demand, with sales of 177,593 vehicles (up 16 percent from 2023). Electrified models will account for 46 percent of all Volvo cars sold globally in 2024, while fully electric models will account for 23 percent, up from 16 percent in 2023. These results clearly demonstrate the company’s commitment to a more sustainable future.

Sales in Europe reach 369,685 vehicles in 2024, an increase of 25 percent compared to 2023. Electrified models – fully electric and plug-in hybrids – accounted for an impressive 65 percent of all cars sold in the region last year.

In Bulgaria, Volvo continues its annual two percent growth, reaching 19 percent more sales compared to 2023. Every third Volvo is fully electric, with green cars reaching 195 percent growth compared to the previous year. The performance of electrified models is particularly strong, representing over 50 percent of the Swedish brand's total sales in Bulgaria.

The mid-compact SUV Volvo XC60 is a bestseller on the market, and the most sustainable Volvo ever - the fully electric EX30 - made a brilliant start last year, representing 20 percent of total sales in our country.

Among Volvo models worldwide, the XC60 remains the undisputed favorite with 230,853 units sold (2023: 228,646). The XC40/EX40 takes second place with 173,890 units sold (2023: 200,670), while the XC90 strengthens its position with 108,621 units sold (2023: 107,549).
