Renault Austral gets driver facial recognition system

With a more pronounced style and a more contemporary look, the new Renault Austral adopts the brand's new design language. Its overall appearance, with a completely renewed front and rear and a new light signature, is now in line with that of the Rafale. Reflecting the new elements in the brand's design, the bumper features small embossed 3D diamonds scattered around the central logo. The precision of these details is combined with the high-tech design of the new front and rear lights. New strips in High Gloss Black are integrated into the lower part of the body protectors, protecting the rear wings from gravel thrown up by the wheels. Their design contributes to the sporty look of the new Renault Austral. The light signature of the new Renault Austral is unique both day and night, with new front and rear lights and daytime running lights (DRL) in the shape of a half-diamond in the bumper. The headlights feature Adaptive LED Vision technology as standard. Matrix Vision technology controls a larger number of LED segments in the light beam for better illumination and increased visual comfort for the driver, without dazzling oncoming drivers bucsa bara stabilizatoare swag pret.

The interior environment is in tune with the elegant exterior style, with new front seats and upholstery. The car also gains technologies typical of higher market segments, with driver facial recognition and new applications accessible from the OpenR Link system with integrated Google services. The new front seats also provide improved lateral and shoulder support. The seats receive new upholstery, including 98% recycled "Egée" fabric, available on Evolution and Techno versions.

For the first time in this range, the new Renault Austral is equipped with a driver recognition system using a camera in the left A-pillar. To activate this function, the driver must first create a profile from the multimedia screen. The following personalized settings can be activated automatically when the driver enters the vehicle: main menu, favorite radio stations and media, driving position (electric driver's seat and door mirrors) and Google applications from the OpenR link system.

Ultra-functional, the new Austral offers an exceptional driving experience both on long journeys and in everyday city driving. With a 200 hp full hybrid E-Tech powertrain (with a 3-cylinder 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and two electric motors) and a clutchless automatic transmission with different modes, it offers one of the best power / fuel economy / driving comfort ratios on the market. In addition to this drive system, customers can also order a mild hybrid with a 160 hp 4-cylinder 1.3-liter gasoline engine.

4Control Advanced, Multi-Sense and 32 new-generation ADAS systems also contribute to a level of comfort behind the wheel and on-board safety on par with the best.

The new Renault Austral is available in three trim levels: Evolution, Techno and Esprit Alpine. The car is produced at the Palencia plant in Spain and will be available in several European countries before the summer.
